Natan Kryszk

Saxophonist, sculptor and sound artist Natan Kryszk lets disciplines bleed into one another rather than sit side by side. A key figure in Warsaw's improvised music scene, he co-founded the avant-jazz trio Pokusa and Robert Diabeł - built around the operatic world of Giacomo Meyerbeer. His visual practice runs through Pracownia Wschodnia and ongoing work with Grupa Nowolipie - and regularly folds into his scores for theatre and dance, where sound becomes something to move through, not just hear. In his solo work, rooted in post-minimalism, he builds long, repeating phrases using saxophone, samplers and effects - breath and key clicks folding into drone, until the instrument starts to sound like something else entirely.
